Witness the mesmerizing Whirling Dervish Show, a traditional Sufi ritual that represents spiritual purification and divine love. This mystical performance, also known as the Sema Ceremony, is a deeply moving experience where dervishes in flowing white robes perform their hypnotic dance to the rhythm of sacred music and chanting.
The Sema (whirling dervishes) ceremony, which is the inspiration of Mevlana Celaleddin-i Rumi (1207 – 1273) as well as part of the Turkish culture, belief and history in Konya, represents the mystical journey of man’s spiritual ascent through love and his search for truth and perfection. It is believed that once man has returned from his spiritual journey, he can love and be of service to all creatures surrounding him. Tonight, you have the opportunity to experience an authentic Cappadocian ceremony and witness an ancient Turkish ritual.
Performed in an ancient Caravanserai that was once used along the Silk Road you will be mesmerised by the location as well as the Dervishes as they share their religious enlightening ceremony with you.
Whirling Dervishes ceremonies start at 18:00 in every week days. The whole ceremony takes around one hour and we offer ‘Serbet’, a religious drink, after the ceremony.
